Encore Theatre Company

Poster Series for Seasonal Theatre Promotion

Encore Theatre Company needed season posters that built recognition across several productions without flattening each play into a template. I treated the series as a system: a fixed grid divides each sheet into an image field and an information panel, with a consistent hierarchy for title, director, venue, and dates.

Because the cast hadn’t been photographed yet, the framework had to work with placeholder images and accept the final portraits without redesign. Tightly cropped grayscale faces set the tone, and the Encore masthead ties every poster to one season.

It’s a project I use to show students that a strong system can carry a campaign even before every asset is final.

Event poster using a weathered, character-driven portrait and strong value contrast to establish a more atmospheric and textured visual tone. The repeated alignment system and informational panel connect the piece to the larger season identity.

Event poster using an extreme close crop and stark tonal contrast to create psychological intensity. The large title and condensed information block organize production details within a stable right-side hierarchy.

Event poster pairing intimate portrait photography with a consistent branded layout to communicate the production’s emotional focus. Scale contrast in the title and supporting text preserves clarity while allowing the image to carry much of the expressive weight.
